Our Mission is to provide classical, Christian education that is parent directed, student centered, and powered by passionate educators.
Classical
One of the main aspects of classical education is the Trivium, or three stages of learning. The students in pre-kindergarten are in the Grammar Stage, when children are highly receptive to basic facts. At this time in their life, everything is new and exciting. Our pre-kindergarten program provides safe exploration and encourages curiosity of their world.
Another facet of classical education is holistic learning. Our program is divided up into five topics of study over the year. Over the course of eight weeks, students will explore one aspect of the world they live in. Each unit integrates all subject areas; language, science, social studies, Bible and social skills. The basic facts –or grammar- of the subjects will be taught within each unit. In Math some topics covered are counting, classifying, and measuring. In Science, climate, geography, and physical science concepts will be covered. In Language all 70 phonograms will be introduced, letter formation will be covered and there will be an emphasis on reading readiness.
Christian
This year, students will hear basic Bible stories, practice biblical characteristics, learn simple prayers and memorize bible verses. This will all be woven into each of the unit studies, so the idea of faith is present in all aspects just as it should be in our lives.
Parent Support
Parenting a pre-kindergartener can be joyful and challenging. Our teachers will send home a weekly newsletter offering parenting tips and learning extensions. Parents are required to volunteer 30 hours a year in or out of the classroom to help with daily learning and gain a first hand perspective of your child in a group learning setting. Parent help is crucial for our program to remain low in cost and be successful.
