Grammar School
Our Mission is to provide classical, Christian education that is parent directed, student centered, and powered by passionate educators.
ClassicalOne of the main aspects of classical education is the Trivium, or three stages of learning. Primary students are in the Grammar Stage, when children are highly receptive to basic facts. At this age, students' minds can easily absorb names, dates, poems, lists, etc. We fill childrens' minds with knowledge that will be building blocks for higher thinking as they mature.
Another facet of classical education is holistic learning. The daily lessons are based in sequential history, integrating language, bible and science on the time period. The curriculum is designed to keep learning fun and hands-on. It focuses on concrete facts and fascinating people. We have pulled the best lessons and activities from a number of curriculums including, Well Trained Mind publishes Story of the World; Tapestry of Grace; Veritas Press and The Mystery of History.
ChristianIn the grammar school, students will learn about the Bible from a historical perspective. It will all be woven into each of the unit studies, so the concept of faith is present in all aspects of learning, as it should be in our lives.Parent SupportOur teachers will send home a weekly newsletter offering parenting tips and learning extensions. Each week students will be responsible for doing a portion of their learning at home. In the primary school, there will be no more than 2 hours a day of homework. This will include reading independently and /or with a parent, practicing spelling words, and working on a project. Parents are encouraged to volunteer in the classroom to help with daily learning and gain a first hand perspective of your child in a group learning setting. Parent help is crucial for our program to remain low in cost and be successful.ClassesClick here to see our class times and days. Our teachers are dedicated Christians who live their faith daily. They are also chosen for their passion for primary students' learning needs.
